Braised Beef over Egg Noodles

The Chinese-style Braised Beef recipe is truly a wonder in flavor and versatility. Today, I’m sharing you another way of serving this delightful dish — Braised Beef over Egg Noodles. It’s about time to get out of your comfort zone and try a noodle recipe without the overflowing soup. And don’t worry about the slurp, it’s still there and much more.

Braised Beef Over Egg Noodles

The Braised Beef over Egg Noodles recipe has many names. Some call it braised noodles or dry noodles with beef. But one thing is certain: the noodles are not submerged in thin soup. Instead, a thickened braised beef sauce is drenched over the egg noodles. It’s vaguely similar to pancit canton but has the comforting beefy goodness and the aromatic flavors of mixed spices that the Chinese came up with: Chu Hou Sauce, star anise, soy sauce, sugar, etc. And this gave a whole new level of delightful noodle-eating experience.

Best enjoyed with:

  • Chicken Soup with Spring Onions
